Elisa A. Liehn, MD, PhD, is the former leader of the Heart Attack Research Group from the University Hospital Aachen, Aachen, Germany and Professor at the University of Southern Denmark. She is an expert in cardiovascular research with a focus on vascular biology, atherosclerosis, and tissue regeneration. Her work extensively investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying vascular inflammation, endothelial function, and the development of cardiovascular diseases. She is particularly experienced in studying the interactions between immune cells and vascular tissues, as well as exploring potential therapeutic strategies to promote vascular repair and prevent cardiovascular pathology. Using broad experimental and clinical approaches, as well as wide interdisciplinary connections, she is continuously making a significant impact on cardiovascular field (h-index 48), being interested in finding and developing new therapeutic strategies for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
