Dr. Belma Turan is a Professor and Head of the Biophysics Department at Lokman Hekim University in Ankara, Turkey. She earned her Ph.D. in Biophysics from Ankara University in 1982 and became a full professor in 1993. Her research focuses on Cardiovascular Sciences, including diabetic cardiomyopathy and age-related heart diseases. She established Turkey’s first cellular electrophysiology lab where she actively train generations of PhD studnets. Dr. Turan has published extensively (h-index 45), authored international books, and has held research positions at INSERM in France and the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences in Canada.
