Bogdan Amuzescu

Bogdan Amuzescu, MD (1991), PhD (2003), is a researcher of ion channel biophysical properties. He completed Fellowships at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (2000–2003) and was employed as an application scientist at Cytocentrics Bioscience GmbH (2014–2015). Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Anatomy, Animal Physiology and Biophysics at the Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest. His managerial experience includes an advisory board membership of the Romanian Society of Neuroscience (2004–2012) and the Romanian Society against Epilepsy (2015). His research interests include the biophysical and pharmacological properties of ENaC/Deg and TRP channels, the mathematical modeling of complex biological systems, applied research in cardiac electrophysiology, and cardiac safety drug testing. He is an expert reviewer for journals like the European Journal of Pharmacology and has authored over 40 research articles and 6 books and book chapters. He is a member of the Biophysical Society, AAAS, FENS, and other scientific societies.
